JDI Hotspurs U9 Girls Win Championship At Fort Dix
JDI Summer Select has contracted SoccerSkillz's Director/coach Niko Alexopoulos to coach one of their U9 Girls Summer Select Teams - HotSpurs - as well as do all the goalkeeper training for their summer select program.
Coach Niko uses the soccerskillz philosophy or training, which includes integration of agility & footwork exercises with the use of the ball. Focus is on improving footwork, coordination, technique, touch on the ball and agility.
Coach Niko also uses the FütPro system that's a specially designed device with a built-in ball, so the players can improve their techniques of proper contact with the ball, build conditioning and timing, use multiple speeds on the ball, use all surfaces of their feet and more.
Coach Niko also uses multiple agility exercises and combines them with the use of a ball. Like most teams in South America and Europe players learn to move and adjust their bodies to the demands of a soccer match while touching the ball with the proper technique. This promotes a FUN, unique and challenging training session without the boredom of most everyday soccer training sessions.
On their first tournament at Lehigh Steamroll JDI Hotspurs took 3rd place. A week later they claimed the championship with 4 wins no losses and a 12 to 5 goal margin. As the girls train and develop under the direction of coach Niko more championships are sure to follow.
